I remember Grampy loved going to antique shops/flea markets, etc, and sometimes he would take me with him when I was a little girl. I remember one time in particular I was about 9 years old, and him and I went out to spend the afternoon together. Grampy picked something up off a table, and told me to wait while he bought it. Then him and I went to McDonald’s where he always treated me to a sundae. He pulled something small out of his pocket, and said he had bought something really special. He opened his palm to show me this little cross broach. Grampy handed it to me and said “this is for you to always remember me by sweetheart”. For as long as I can remember, Grampy and I always teased eachother and had lots of inside jokes, but I’ll always remember those serious and quiet moments with my grandpa, and I’ll always remember the day he gave me this broach. I love you forever grampy!
