Alva Pollard

Obituary of Alva B. Pollard

Alva Pollard, 66, of Searsmont took his last breath on Tuesday, December 6th, and joined all those who left before him. Alva along with his late parents Wilson (Jack) Pollard and Evelyn (Button) Pollard came to Maine in the early 60s, buying their forever home in Searsmont on Muzzy Ridge Rd and where he spent his entire life. Alva, along with Zona Fuller raised two children Danielle of Searsmont and Trevor of Davidson, NC who were his most prized accomplishment. Alva is also survived by his oldest daughter Annette Pollard of Maine.

Alva attended Belfast Area High School where he created lifelong bonds with many friends from the area. As a truck driver, Alva saw and explored the lower 48 before settling down in a more local setting to be with his then-wife, kids, and cherished pets. He was a member of the United Bikers of Maine motorcycle club and was a lifelong enthusiast of motorcycles and NASCAR, a passion that inspired his son Trevor who has worked in Racing since 2006.

In his best years, Alva was the life of the party. He loved fiercely family and friends alike and would give anyone he cared about the shirt off his back whenever they needed it. His laugh, knack for giving everyone he crossed unique nicknames, love of music, racing, motorcycles, his children, the late Magnus, and his friends will live on forever in the memories of those who knew and loved him.

The family will host a celebration of life in the Spring/Summer and will provide more details at a later date.
