Dear Sally It has been so many years since seeing you and the MARINE together at Crosby High. Although a few years younger than you both, I knew you and your parents quite well but have never forgotten what I saw on the first floor at Crosby High one day. Coming out of the principal's office, which occurred on occasion, I heard and saw you running past me toward the Spring Street door and jumping into the arms of a MARINE in uniform coming toward you. I too have the highest esteem for the Colonel's service to our county and the little City of Belfast we grew up in.

Ron & Philomine Nickerson John & Sally have been our friends since grade school and especially in these later years. We have spent many fun days together. It would be hard to find a nicer couple to be with. We have sent a donation to the Belfast American Legion in memory of John.

Dear Sally and family, We hold Colonel Carr in the highest esteem for all he has been and done to serve his country, his family and all of humanity. He was a true gentleman. He represents all that is good and honorable. A true U.S. Marine through and through, and he knows he has Mike's respect always, from one Marine to another.
