We want to express our sincerest condolences for you all with the passing of Richard. Although we feel we only had just begun to know him in the 4 short years we got. Grandpa Richard made a huge impact on my family through the love he showed our family. I remember the first time we met you. With my eleven week old baby sweating from the heat of summer as well as shaking with nerves as a first time mom. You both were so incredibly warm and welcoming putting us right as ease. Richard sitting at the kitchen table pretending to not notice how novice we were as parents. He just sat listening to you talk to us eating his dinner eventually unable to stay quiet joining to share stories of children that you both have shown so much love to over the years. Leaving that early evening we knew God blessed us putting you in our lives. I still think of the last conversations I had with Richard. He walked us out to the car pretending to get something out of his truck. He told me what a delight my daughter is and what a wonderful little human she is. He said she always notices him. Sharing how she always makes sure to tell him hello and goodbye every day. He told me how much it meant to him that she did that and what a testament it is to how well we are doing raising her. I know that I thanked him for saying that but expressed how much he and your family have helped raise us into the parents we have become. We truly cannot thank you enough for sharing your family with us and loving our daughter as well as you do. We share in the sadness with this great big hole in our hearts knowing how hard each day without him is. We celebrate Grampa Richard. I know he is watching over you all still sending his love and guidance to you all. May we too be so lucky to even get a small share of that love and guidance he is sending from heaven. Love Joe, Michelle and Ziyah

Richard plowed my driveway for many many years. He never failed to get me out in time for work. He always had a smile or a story. Even in the worst of times he could make me laugh. I missed him when he stopped plowing and I miss him today. My prayers for all his family.
