I grew up in the automobile business with Dave Johnson. I joined Dutch Chevrolet in 1975 and worked along side Dave every day until his retirement in 2012. Not only was Dave a genuine great guy, but his organizational skills were amazing. He scheduled service appointments on a desk calendar....and it worked perfectly. His memory was second to none....he remembered all of our customers by their first and last names! Dave was well respected by all employees and by all of the customers he served each day. Dave and I had many great talks together and a lot of laughs! Dave was a soft spoken, quiet man(except when he sang "Tiny Bubbles") that I always admired. He taught me a lot about life and I will be forever grateful for our friendship. His love and dedication to his family lives on in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Until we meet again, rest in peace good friend, and may God Bless all of your family

I had the privilege of working with David for more than 15 years at Dutch Chevrolet. Dave's customer service and organizational skills were second to none. He had an incredible memory for people and details. Anytime I was trying to remember a customers name I went out and asked Dave and with just a couple of inadequate clues he would come up with the name I was looking for. Every time. Amazing. He also had a system of making appointments on a desktop calendar pad in tiny, cryptic illegible notes. No one could understand it besides him but it worked. Perfectly. He had the ability to make connections with customers that was invaluable. He earned the trust of everyone he dealt with and also the respect of the crew. He was a man of few words but a great listener with a quick smile and subtle sense of humor. Most of all he was a genuinely nice guy.
Condolences to his family for their loss. He will be missed.

Dave will be forever missed by all the neighbors on Cottage st. He loved chicken wings, poker and had a definite sweet tooth. He enjoyed watching the neighborhood boys play ball on his land. He was such a gentle soul.
Rest in Peace, Dave Johnson

I knew David first through Dutch and then as a volunteer at WCGH. He was full of mischief and always made me laugh. He will be missed by many. Sending my condolences to the family.
