I was very saddened to learn today (8-10) of Alice Brier's passing. Alice Brier was a great and true patriot who not only loved her dear family and good friends, but also loved her country and fearlessly stood up for the principles that made the USA a free, great, and prosperous land. That's one of her attributes that influenced me and which I'll never forget. She was a loyal, generous, supportive, caring friend to my late mother, and to my late sister and me, for decades. She had the gift of gab; she and my mother would talk on the phone, sometimes for hours, frequently each week. My two daughters and I called on her several years ago on a visit to Maine, and she was delighted to be remembered and to host us. We exchanged Christmas cards over the past few years, including Christmas 2018. I'll miss not hearing from her this year. R.I.P. "Mrs Brier," (as I always, ALWAYS respectfully called her). You suffered perhaps more than your share of heartache in this vale of tears that's our earthly home, but you are again hand in hand with Charles--an honorable man whom I respected greatly--this time in the Kingdom of Heaven.
