Obituary of Sabyth Gaye Leeman

Belfast- Sabyth Gaye Leeman, 78, of Belfast passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2024, at her residence.  To most people, she was known as either Gaye Roberts or Gaye Leeman.

She was born in Waterville, Maine on September 13, 1946 to Merle and Ersele (Brown) Leeman.  She grew up in Winslow and later her family moved to Liberty. She graduated from Mount View High School in 1965 where she was in the chorus and she was a majorette.  She married Harvey Roberts on November 11, 1967, and they had a son,  Darren.  Gaye worked at different jobs from bookkeeping for her husband‘s plumbing business to Movie Gallery and McDonald’s.  Her favorite job was when she became a CNA and Med Tech at Harbor Hill in Belfast.

She is survived by her former husband Harvey, her son Darren and his wife Tamara, her brother Bradley Leeman and his partner Anastasia, her many nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Willow.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Jerome Leeman and his wife Elizabeth,   her sisters Donna Leeman and Brenda Ronco, her niece Shari (Leeman) Randal,l and her nephew Steven Leeman.

A graveside service will be held next spring at Howard Cemetery in Winslow.
