Obituary of Andrew Burrows Baker

Andrew B. Baker, 74, of Union, Maine passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the Sussman House in Rockport with his wife Ginny at his side.

Andy was born in Summit, New Jersey, on April 2, 1950, middle child of Douglas Hayden  Baker and M.  Elizabeth (Jones) Hall (formerly of Cushing). He is survived by Virginia Ladd Baker and their three children: Abigail Mary and her daughter Elizabeth Alyse; Anthony John and his wife Chelsea; and Ann Melba Craig. Andy has two brothers, Jonathan Baker and Anthony Baker, wife Amy,  of Staunton, Virginia; and a special brother-in-law John Ladd. He is also survived by nieces Gabby, Sally, Farrah, Cari, and Brittany; nephews Jim, David, Corin, Jeremy, and Cory, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Andy worked in sales and advertising in Rhode Island, Maryland, and Maine for many years. He enjoyed meeting people and is remembered for his sense of humor. He loved being a grand- father, sailing his sailboat in healthier times, and a hobby of flying gliders and building remote-control model planes, even heli-copters most recently. Appeasing his lifelong desire to be a pilot.

Andy greatly appreciated the special care and attention from the nursing staff at the Alfond Center. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memories and condolences may be shared at ripostafh.com.
