Obituary of Samantha K. Davis-Lenzo
Samantha (Sammy) Davis-Lenzo was born February 2nd, 1974, in Grand Forks, ND, and died peacefully in her sleep with her furry companions, Midnight and Winter, lovingly by her side on the night of June 29th, 2024, in Belfast, ME.
Sammy grew up traveling across the country and world as an “Air Force Brat” with her loving parents, Carl and Arlene, and younger brother, Micheal. While for many, this life of often moving around would be difficult, Sammy adored traveling and always spoke fondly of her time in Italy, especially her favorite teachers from her Italian preschool. She found outlets throughout her life whenever she could to have many adventures and experiences that left memories that those who she shared them with cherish deeply for the rest of their lives. Especially her husband Joe, whom she enjoyed traveling with the most.
Samantha found great purpose in motherhood at the age of 26, when she had her eldest child, Makenna (23). Later, she married her ex-husband Wayne and gave birth to two more children, Matthew (14) and Sapphire (10), whom she loved dearly.
Sammy was known to everyone to be quite feisty, despite being 5’2”. She always had a witty comeback, sarcastic remark, or joke ready to bring laughter and light to any room. A spark she passed on to her three children, whom she leaves behind. Most people will fondly remember Sammy for her beautiful smile and iconic laugh that erupted from her lips in an unapologetic boom and filled any room. Makenna, Matthew, and Sapphire will miss their mother’s bright smile and sense of humor greatly. They encourage anyone reading this to find a reason to make someone smile today, just as their mother did for friends and family alike.
Samantha was talented in so many aspects of her life. She loved crafting, and any new style she picked up, she’d practice religiously until she could do it with her eyes closed. She took great pride in making gifts by hand for her loved ones. Not many people outside of her family knew, but Sammy was also an amazingly talented baker and cook. Aside from that, Samantha enjoyed playing games on her phone, Dunkin coffee, blasting music in the car, going on beach walks, and hanging out on the couch while watching movies with her family and her pets. She lived a simple life that was filled with love, and in its simplicity, Samantha found great satisfaction in the world.
Samantha is survived by too many loved ones to count, all of whom will miss her brightness, strength, and courage. Especially her children; Makenna, Matthew, and Sapphire; her step children Jeremy, Matthew and Tasheba; her parents, Carl and Arlene; her ex-husband and father to her youngest children, Wayne; her devoted husband, Joe, and all the family she left behind. She had 12 step grandchildren.
We are thankful for the years we had with her. While for any child, husband, or parent it will always be too soon to loose their loved one, those of us who were blessed to be touched by her life understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceeds the quantity of time that she stayed on this earth with us.
Memories and condolences may be shared on her tribute wall.
