I worked with Florence at Penobscot Frozen Foods in the early 1980’s. We called her “Fluffy,” a nickname given her by another coworker, Fonda Palmer, because of a permanent gone wrong.
She was very kind to me. She looked at me one day and said, “why don’t you come to church?” I knew she was praying for me. I did go to church and still do to this day.
Just before Christmas one year she kept telling her coworkers over and over that she wanted a green sweater for Christmas. I drew her name and bought her a simple green pullover sweater. She was delighted with it.
I look forward to seeing her in God’s kingdom someday. She probably never knew the impact her kindness and prayers had on my life and I’m sure there are many others who would say the same.
