To Carol, Amy, Lori and Susan my heartfelt condolences to all of you and your families. This giant of a man, not in stature, but in every other way has left a large void in our lives, and I cannot even begin to imagine how you feel. Jenness was truly one of a kind with a heart bigger than life. I've known him since I was 13 and while we were just friends, it made no difference the mile's between us or the length of time that went by, Jenness was a real friend. He and my husband Bob became friends and oh what great times we had. But the dearest thing Jenness ever did showed his true nature and compassion for others. When my mom and dad made the final move to live all year on Quantabacook, in 1972, Dad and Jenness became friends working together for the Town of Searsmont and I'm sure they didn't always agree, but when Dad passed away in California where he ultimately moved to and we brought him to Maine for a service in the Searsmont church, to be interred with mom, and after a lengthy service of stories, music and prayers we proceeded out of the church up the hill for burial. As I turned around in the church there quietly sitting 2 pews behind was Jenness. I was so moved by that act of caring and respect for my dad, that he took the time out of his busy day to come, was so heartfelt, but that's who Jenness Robbins was...and I for one was blessed to have known him and so lucky to have called him my friend..Rest easy Jenness, it's well deserved .....and thank you..Ethel Simmons
