Debra Marie Smith Obituary

Debra Marie Smith was born in Ridgewood NJ in October 1963. She passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 20th, 2024.

She was the daughter of John J. Borzoni and Virginia M. Copp. Debbie grew up in Appleton Maine and was one of the first girls to play on the Appleton Little League team. She had a determined spirit and never shied away from any experience or new accomplishment.

As a young mother, she worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts driving a truck. She would later go back to school to learn phlebotomy and find her real passion which was helping others. She cared for many people as a home health aide in both Massachusetts and Maine until her own illness made it impossible for her to work.

Debbie was always a very strong person and took on cancer like she did everything in life with a great sense of humor and a warrior attitude. She didn’t only beat it once but twice.

She is survived by her only son Christapher, brothers Buzz (Sa) and Frank, sister Diane(Mike), a niece Sara and nephews Bruno, Rico, Taran, and Ryan. She was predeceased by both her parents and her older brother, David.

There will be no service at this time. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
