Lisa Mann-Lapham

Obituary of Lisa D. Mann-Lapham

Lisa Mann-Lapham passed away at home in Belfast, Maine on March 2, 2024. We miss her so much- she was our Mama Bear, giving her family an infinite amount of unconditional love, support, empathy and protection.

Lisa was born on May 24, 1962 in Belfast, Maine to Elaine and Johnny Ward. She grew up in Belfast right on the ocean, in a house her father built by hand, alongside five brothers and sisters. Growing up she had a playful and adventurous personality - she was a self-proclaimed “Tom Boy”, playing tackle football with her brothers (and winning!); she loved to play pranks in high school, and after high school she moved to San Francisco, CA on a whim with her older sister, Debbie. In San Francisco she built a career in insurance, a community of friends through her newfound Christian faith and church, and loved the culture of city life. After about ten years in San Francisco, she returned to raise her daughter Ashley in Belfast, and went on to grow her family by marrying Daniel Lapham and having two children, Mariah and Ethan.

Lisa had many talents and quirks - most of all, she was the best mother and wife, providing steadfast support, love and laughs to her children and husband. In 2018, she became a Mimi to her granddaughter Zoe McLellan- the joy the two of them experienced with each other was beautiful to witness. She became a frequent hiker, exploring trails all over mid-coast and Downeast Maine with her family. We will miss her ability to rock out to 80’s hair bands, lull Bella the family puppy to sleep, eat pounds of raspberries with Zoe in the summer, fiercely cheer on the Bruins and win Connect Four every time. Every single time.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Daniel Lapham; her children Ashley Mann-McLellan, Mariah Lapham and Ethan Lapham; her granddaughter Zoe McLellan; her brother Lawrence Ward; and her nephews and niece Bryce Bearse, Letitia Ward and Stanley Ward. She is predeceased by her mother, Anna Elaine Ward, her father Russell John Ward, her brother Kevin Ward, and her sisters Anne Ward, Melanie Ward and Deborah Ward.

A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held at Harbor Light Church at 78 Maine Street, Rockland, Maine on March 23rd at 1pm. Lisa loved potlucks, so feel free to bring a dish and stay for food. Lisa’s favorite color was red- please feel free to dress in shades of red or other bright colors if you wish.
