Jacquelyn Yvonne Graber was born in 1938. The youngest of 4, she was raised on a dairy farm in Marshallville, Ohio. She graduated from Kent State University and taught elementary school in Ohio and California before picking up a sailor in a bar. She married that sailor in 1963, became Jackie Siemer, and spent the next 30 years moving around the world with John and their two children.
John and Jackie then enjoyed over 25 years of retirement in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee before moving to Belfast, Maine in 2022 to be closer to family. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last month.
She is survived by her husband, CDR John Siemer, USN Retired, daughter Joanne Hazelwood, son Jeff Siemer and his husband Jerry Dunn, and grandchildren James, Sarah, John, Elizabeth and David. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Gwen, nieces and nephews and many friends around the country.
Jackie died peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023 surrounded by the love of her family and friends, in person, over the phone and in spirit.
