Obituary for George B Kerper, Jr.
George Boiston Kerper, Jr,79, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, November 22 at Sussman
House in Rockport from complications with cancer.
He was a staple in Searsport town hall as he put meetings, events, and educational programming on cable. He was also a member of the Searsport
planning board for many years, as well as the Budget Advisory Committee. Previously he worked for Sears, Roebuck as a division manager in the Philadelphia area.
He also served 10 years as an Army National guard Reservist. As a young man, he served with the Wyndmoor Hose Volunteer Fire Company
in Pennsylvania as did many of the men in his family.
He is survived by his partner of 12 years, Lin Calista, his son, George Kerper, III and his wife, Erika and their two children, Olivia and Henry, from Macungie, Pennsylvania and his many friends in Searsport. He is predeceased by his wife, Susan, and son, Graham.
There will be a brief graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery in Searsport at 11 am on Saturday, December 2 followed by a brunch at his home at 101 E Main St.
