With great sadness, our family announces the passing of Laurie (Walker) Curtis of Searsport.
Laurie (Walker) Curtis, 59, of Searsport, passed away at Maine Medical Center in Portland on November 17, 2023. She was born in Belfast, Maine on January 08, 1964, to the late Nelson and Joan Walker of Searsport. Laurie is survived by her 3 children, Jamie, Justin, and Gail, sister Dianne, brothers Mark, David, and Mike, and her 8 grandchildren: Mercedes, Giovanni, Justice, Hayden, Izic, Ronnie, Kitura, and Sorin, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Laurie was predeceased by her brother, Nelson Walker Jr.
Laurie graduated from Searsport High School in 1982. In prior years, she worked in healthcare as a CNA at Tall Pines in Belfast and often spoke about the gratification of such a position. She was very independent, soft-spoken with a quiet nature. We will miss her presence in our family and are comforted knowing she is finally at peace.
Our family is grateful for the caring nurses and doctors who looked after Laurie for the past several months.
