Obituary of William Sullivan Jr
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William “Sonny” Sullivan Jr. of Levant, age 74. He passed away, Nov. 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.
Proud Marine, Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend. Sonny grew up and went to school in Belfast. He proudly served in the USMC from 1966 to 1970, serving in Vietnam. Sonny was very proud of having served and was always quick to remind everyone that the Marines are the best of the best. He was a member of the Belfast VFW post #3108 for many years. He worked for many years as a mechanic and also worked on cars as a hobby, including building race cars. He loved to go fishing and hunting every time he had the chance. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends and going to the races, both local and Nascar.
Sonny was pre-deceased by his parents Carrie and Thomas Ward and William Sullivan Sr., sister Eileen, brother Danny, daughter Norma “Sissy”, and grandson Adam.
Sonny is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, June, children Michael “Tony” and William “John” Runci, and Valerie Curtis and husband Craig, bonus daughters from a previous marriage, Sonia, Laurie, and Sherry, grandchildren Chasity and partner Seamus, Cheyenne and partner John, Alex and wife Jessie, Jazmine, Willow, Garret and Corbin, great grandchildren Delaney, Bentley and Hadley.
He shared a close relationship with nephews Steve Hills and Ron Young, sister and brother-in-law Nita and Gray(Bump) Morrison, and very special friends Matt and Angela Davis, Steve Brown, Danny Danforth as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, all too numerous to mention, he was greatly loved by all who were lucky enough to know him and will be forever missed.
There will be a service at Crabiel Riposta funeral home on Friday Nov. 24that 11am with a graveside service to follow at Grove cemetary and a reception afterwards at the Redman Hall in Belfast
