Obituary of Candice E. Moore

Please share a memory of Candice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On the morning of November 1st of 2023, Candice Etta Moore (age 59) passed away at Pen Bay Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones, after a short but brutal battle with stomach cancer.

Born to Catherine (Snow) and Harry Patterson on March 25th of 1964. Candy was a graduate of Searsport High School, class of 1982. She was a valued member of the community, having been involved in the Stockton Springs Fire Department since the age of 12, and serving several years as the town’s recreation director. She spent the last few years working in the kitchen at Searsport Elementary School. Candy enjoyed and owned many animals throughout the years and found no greater joy than to be with her family.

Candy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Thomas Moore III of Stockton Springs; children, Hannah Moore and fiancé Nathanial Littlehale and son Isiah of Pownal, Eben and Allyson Moore of Stockton Springs, and Jacob Moore and girlfriend Kelsea Wortham of Monroe; her four grandchildren, Rainer, Branch, Etta Jo and Perrin; her siblings Donald Sanborn of Stockton Springs, Pamela (Sanborn) and Brad Cahill of Woolwich and her twin brother Harry (Jr) and Linda Patterson of Swanville. She will be deeply missed by her Moore family, Alison Moore, Colin Moore, Gretchen (Moore) and Daniel Peaco, Eric Moore; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and long time friend Belinda Brewer. She was predeceased by her parents and sister-in-law, Gail (Krienke) Sanborn.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 18th at 12 o’clock at the Searsport District High School in the cafeteria. Please bring a favorite dish or dessert to share along with a memory of Candy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the Stockton Springs Fire Department’s new firehouse fund, 217 Main St, Stockton Springs; or What’s One Moore Animal Rescue, 29 Partridge Lane, Stockton Springs.
