He was born Sunday May 27, 1951 in Montville, Maine, the son of the late Eli and the late Shirley (Linscott) Whitcomb.
Randy attended Belfast Area High School class of 1969 later training at Southern Maine Technical Institute for heavy equipment mechanics. He married Darlene Haber on November 20, 1970 and they started their family together. In their almost 53 years of marriage they raised three children together.
He was an auto mechanic for many years at CA Paul and Sons, Lothrop Ford, and Kallis Ford. Randy was skilled at plumbing and electrical work building several family homes by hand, one side by side with his brothers help. Randy enjoyed fixing and riding motorcycles in his younger years. He enjoyed cutting wood and wood working making many homemade gifts for family. Randy's many skills will live on in his children and grandchildren. Boating and spending time in the bays and lakes of Maine were some of his favorite pastimes. Randy enjoyed adventuring alongside his family and had a heart for animals and a special love for his dogs Shiloh and Jesse.
He had a passion for catch and release fishing, happily spending the whole day outside. Randy loved music and reading especially non-fiction. He will be remembered by all who knew him well for his "gift of gab." Randy was intrigued by geography and would spend countless time pouring over the Gazetteer Atlas looking up new places and roads. He loved to spend his time with his children, his special nephew Travis, grandchildren, and great grandchildren counting them as some of his greatest blessings. Randy found peace and comfort in his later years spending time reading his bible and bird watching.
His lyme disease took a severe toll neurologically on his speech and movement, but he was ever present with his family and friends. He found great comfort in sharing his faith with his close friend Steve Mann, and other members of the Living Church of God.
