Obituary of Pauline L Heroux
Pauline L. Heroux (Murphy), 67, of Belfast passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 23, 2023, at Sussman House in Rockport after a 7 year battle with cancer.
She was born at home in Liberty on December 2, 1955 to Jerry and Freda (Martz) Murphy.
Pauline graduated from Mount View High School and attended Southern Maine Technical College where she studied culinary arts. Some of the many hats that she wore during her work life included owning a restaurant (The Clam Hut) with her husband, school lunch lady, direct support professional with people for disabilities, and most recently (and also her favorite) a dietary aid at Waldo County General Hospital where she was well loved by staff and patients.
Pauline always had an open-door policy - everyone was always welcome in her home and was guaranteed to leave with a full belly. She always took care of everybody and even continued to do so on her deathbed when she would wake up briefly to ask "Are you OK?" or "Everything alright."
She was predeceased by her parents, siblings Sherry Colson (Mike), Edward Murphy (Candy), Vernon "Donnie" Murphy, and husband Phillip Heroux Sr.
She is survived by her children Donald "DJ" Harriman and wife Michelle of Liberty, Donna Fletcher and fiancé Joshua Williams of Newburgh, and Zebediah Maker of Liberty; cherished grandchildren Jasmine, Emily, Landon, Chase, Dakota, Malaki, Spencer, Declan, and Everlee; great grandson Greyson; sister Arlene Flye and husband James of West Chester, PA; her best friend from birth and sidekick Paula Adams. A big thank you to former son-in-law Tom Fletcher and niece Shanna Grindle and her family who were always there when Pauline needed them.
A celebration of Pauline's life will be held on August 19th from 11-2 at the Liberty Community Hall 3 Serenity Lane Liberty, ME
