Your presence will be deeply missed, Jake. Your ability to bring joy and laughter into every moment was truly remarkable, and your kindness and generosity set an example for all of us. Your courage and spirit throughout life’s adventures were nothing short of inspiring. You touched so many lives in so many ways and I am grateful for the time we shared together. Rest now, dear cousin, knowing that you have left a wonderful legacy behind.

Idk when or where our pathes changed course but I can think of a million different times we shared together, literally a million different times we hung out, played sports, enjoyed a Friday night with the boys! Breaks my heart life had different plans for us all. I thought we'd all grow old of our stupid habits. Life seemed to get in the way, an we grew up because of it... an all I wish is that we were just kids on the play ground again back at monroe elementary! I dont wanna be grown up anymore...
You'll always be my brother Jake Aitken!
May you find your peace my friend!

Growing up in Monroe with you all, there are so many memories that come to mind. It’s crazy that we were all just kids growing up together, out playing manhunt, and just causing chaos. Our families were so close, we went on vacations together to Florida many times. You guys were and always will be a second family. Jake was another big brother growing up. One memory that I think of and laugh about is being in Florida and going four wheeling. I remember Jake drove his four wheeler right into a ditch and launched himself in the air. All you could hear was a faint yell from Jake and see him just flying, then covered in mud. I remember us all laughing about it nonstop and poking fun. Jake will be so missed and always in our hearts. My condolences to you guys. I love you all so much.

When I started dating Adam 6 years ago and met his brother Jake (coincidentally on Memorial Day weeekend if memory serves), I remember thinking how lucky Adam was to have a brother so close in age and how cool it was going to be to spend time with my new boyfriend's family and always have a crew of friends in his siblings. At that point in time I had hoped things would go well in my budding relationship, but I hadn't quite conceptualized that I was also building a relationship with my new siblings.
In the years that I knew Jake, he was warm and easy to be around. He was attentive in conversation and always had a big grin and a laugh for everyone in the room whenever a joke was made. He made me feel like part of the group from the beginning, and to me that felt like family.
It's not fair or just that his kids won't be our kids cousins, or that his family won't be there for cookouts and graduations and and birthdays. It's not fair or just that we won't be at his wedding, won't experience birth of his first child, and won't celebrate his professional success. There is nothing fair or just about it.
I was lucky to have known him for the years that I did, and I'll never not miss his presence whenever we gather as a family.
Rest in peace, Jake.
