I was a member of a National Academy of Sciences panel along with Dr. Gaylor. He was always approachable and friendly despite his high scientific reputation; once on a telephone call he remarked to me his firm was called Dave Gaylor & Associates. When I asked about his "associates" he responded with the names of his two dogs! A good guy and "solid citizen" as our mutual friend Dr. John Doull quipped- no question about it. Calvin Willhite
