Obituary of Eileen York

BELFAST
EILEEN (MARCHANT) YORK, 87, died at her home on February 10, 2023.  Eileen was born on February 10, 1936 in Hyannis, Massachusetts to Chester Everett and Evelyn Bernice (Chase) Marchant.  She graduated from Barnstable, Massachusetts High School.  

Eileen was an independent woman many times working two jobs to support her family.  They will remember her strength both emotionally and physically as she was a stoic matriarch for her family.  She worked for many years at the Salvation Army in Belfast where she enjoyed her many interactions with the customers.  

Eileen was predeceased by her parents; brothers Allan Marchant and William Marchant.  She is survived by her children: Terry and Kevin Ellis of Belfast, Sharon Bucklin (Owen) of Old Town, Holly Witham of Skowhegan, Marcia Witham of Waterville, Martin Witham Jr. (Dawn) of Palermo and Travis York (Monica) of Searsport.  She is also survived by her brother Dennis Marchant and wife Vicki of  Barnstable, MA.  Eileen had 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be private.  Rest in peace Mom - we love you.
