Obituary of Nathan G. Peaslee Jr.

SEARSMONT

NATHAN GRANT PEASLEE, 65, passed away unexpectedly February 2, 2023 at his home in Searsmont.  He was born in Belfast July 26, 1957 to Nathan and Goldie (Bryant) Peaslee Sr.  Upon graduating from Mt. View High School, Nate went to work at Lothrop Ford.  He enjoyed 10 years there and made many friends.   He then went to work for MDOT where he stayed for 33 years until retiring.  

Nate and Debbie owned and operated Olde Mill Diner in Searsmont for 14 years where he enjoyed meeting old friends and making new ones. 

Nate was passionate about life - being outdoors or on the water.  One of his favorite pastimes was Friday night Cruise-Ins at Reny's where he enjoyed the vintage cars, the old music and talking with other car enthusiasts.  Nate was so full of love, life and had a great sense of humor.  He enjoyed nature, animals, his family and friends. Nate spent hours upon hours restoring the old farmhouse they'd bought and it was truly a labor of love.

Nate was talented in many ways.  He was so proud of the garage he built where he spent many hours working on his '66 Ford Galaxie.  There wasn't anything he couldn't do - it may have taken him a little longer, and he may have had to call a few people with questions but always got the job done. 

Nate was predeceased by his parents, his aunts Agnes, Delora and Lucille and his uncles, Oscar, Chet, Ralph and Bruce.  Nate leaves behind his wife, Debbie; brother Herman and his partner Debi; sister Linda and her partner Dave; a very special niece and nephew, Ellie and Nick; his Aunt Beverly and his "fur-babies" Max and Sophie.  He is also survived by Debbie’s daughter Jami and husband Billy, sister-in-law Pam and husband Wayne; brother-in-law Fred and his significant other Brenda, many cousins as well as many special friends.  He will be forever missed.

At Nate's request there will be no services. Those who wish may make donations to your local animal shelter or sanctuary in Nate's honor.  Memories and condolences may be shared on his tribute wall.
