Obituary of Elmer K. Sweetland Sr.

Elmer K. Sweetland Sr., 67 of Searsmont, passed away January 18, 2023.  Elmer was born June 8, 1955 in Belfast to the late Paul Sr. and Joyce Sweetland. 

Elmer drove trucks for many years.  He enjoyed crossword puzzles, feeding the birds, Sunday coffee with aunt Charlene, Sunday afternoon gatherings with his niece Robbie and nephew Robert and especially spending time with his grandchildren. 

Elmer was predeceased by his parents, his sister Karen Winchenbach; and by his special nephew Stephen Gilman II.  Surviving are his sons, Elmer Sweetland Jr., and his partner Leah, Ricki Sweetland and his partner Cassandra and Ben Sweetland; his special niece and nephew who he loved as his own, Marie Gilman and Chico Carter; his grandchildren, Daniel, Paige, Ryan, Bryce, Gabriel, Christopher, Isla, Casey and Jasmine; his brothers, Phillip Sweetland and wife Loretta, Charlie Sweetland and wife Melody and Paul Sweetland Jr., and wife Katie; his sisters Elizabeth Carter and her partner Paul and Brenda Spaulding and husband Bo; his brother-in-law Eugene Winchenbach and his special aunt Charlene.

Services will be held at 2pm on Thursday February 2, 2023 at Crossroads to Calvary Church in Morrill with a gathering to follow in the church fellowship hall.
