I am very saddened to learn of Phil's death. He and I shared many experiences - childhood in Aroostook County as doctors' sons, Hebron Academy, Bowdoin College, and then many years on the medical staff of EMMC. I liked his quick wit, remembering a time when he and Janet won a flight with Gayle and me in my Cessna 172 -
Janet: Phil, it has only one engine!
Phil: That's all right, Janet, that means we have only one to worry about.
I don't have to imagine your sorrow, Janet. As the late Queen Elizabeth put it, "Grief is the price we pay for love"
