Obituary of Daniel Frederick Proulx
Belfast – Daniel F. Proulx went to be with his Lord and Savior – Jesus Christ. Dan passed away after a courageous battle with brain cancer – glioblastoma on December 3, 2022, at his home in Belfast, surrounded by those who loved him. He was born on December 10, 1989, in Calais, the youngest son of Janet (Frost) Proulx and Bob Proulx.
Dan graduated from Woodland High School in Baileyville in 2008 where he excelled in wrestling. He attended the University of Southern Maine. Dan had a number of jobs including store clerk, boatbuilding, lobstering and finally a job he loved at Field Turf. Dan was skilled in a variety of crafts. He enjoyed cooking, especially bread making. He loved to play music.
He is survived by Jenna Hackett – the love of his life; his parents, Bob and Janet Proulx; brothers Michael and Christopher Proulx; sister Caryn Coulombe and her husband Michael; his AFS brother Javier Cereceda of Chile; his loving aunts and uncles, Martha Proulx; Sarah (Proulx) Tanner and her husband Bruce; Jim and Lori Frost; Wayne and Shelley Frost, and many cousins and friends.
Dan was a fantastic son, brother, nephew, boyfriend, and friend. A memorial service will be held at Mays Funeral Home in Calais on Sunday, December 18, 2022. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 with a Memorial Service at 3:00 with Pastor Keith Moody officiating.
