Obituary of Juanita C. Richards

JUANITA CARROL (LEATHERS) RICHARDS, died November 10, 2022 at Belfast.  She was born December 9, 1948 in Belfast to Henry and Lydia Mae Frances (Hall) Leathers. 

She was predeceased by both parents and six brothers; eight sisters and her daughter Doreen Emily Orcutt; great-granddaughter Taylor Greenleaf and her dog, Gypsy Rose.

Juanita is survived by her sister, Verna Pinkerton of Florida; her two daughters Kitty Ann Greenleaf of Washington, Iowa and Elly Mae Ellsworth of Bucksport.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and 15 grandchildren including adoptive grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Juanita worked at Penobscot Poultry Plant and Stinson Canning Company and was a cook at the Waldo County Jail for years.  She enjoyed coloring, painting bird houses and other things.  Juanita loved cleaning junk with her nephew and spending time with her family.  

Services will be announced at a later date.  Memories and condolences may be shared on her tribute wall.
