Obituary of David C. Kinney

David C. Kinney, age 85, of Northport, passed away peacefully at Harbor Hill Center in Belfast on October 21, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born January 9th, 1937 in Searsport son of Kenneth and Alice (Gray) Kinney. 

He worked at Penobscot Poultry for 15 years.  He was a salesman for numerous businesses for 5 years and a self-employed carpenter until his retirement.

He was a 60-year member of the Masonic Lodge, his home Lodge was Marriners Lodge #68 in Searsport, and a dual member of Pownal Lodge #119 in Stockton.   He was a Shriner for 7 years and in the National Guard for 32 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, and his beloved wife, Doris of 62 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Annis of Augusta, Terri Curtis of Belmont, and Penny Kinney of Augusta.  Grandchildren Mindy (Mike) Mathieu of Augusta, Shanna (Lonny) Barrows of Belmont, Natasha (Jason) Jensen of Topsham, Kyle (Gus) Burkett of Dedham, MA, several great-grandchildren a special niece, Deloris Merithew of Searsport and best friend, Keith Grant of Searsmont.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 1 to 2 pm followed by a memorial service at 2 pm at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast, Me.  Those who wish may make memorial donations in his memory to the Harbor Hill Activities fund 2 Footbridge Rd. Belfast, Me.
