Frederick Marshall

Obituary of Frederick N. Marshall

Frederick Marshall, 62, of Searsport, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022. Fred was born in Camden, Maine on May 29, 1960. It was then that he was destined to share the love of two families, John and Alice Marshall and Bud and Tina Jameson. Little did he know that it meant having four brothers and six sisters combined.

As like most, life isn’t always the way we want it to be, but Fred’s turned for the best when he met Bonnie Seekins. On June 1, 2014, Fred and Bonnie were married. He also became stepdad to Leroy, Travis and Shawn, her three sons. He was their stepdad and according to them, Fred was a darn good one.

Fred and Bonnie were inseparable, just enjoying their life together and their family.

Together they went to his sister Bernadette’s camp, fishing, cookouts, card games, boating, going to the observation room atop Verona Bridge or visiting family. They were always holding hands and just loved being together. They made their home in Searsport near the three sons, their families, and Bonnie’s brothers and sisters.

Their love was for a short time but more than most have in a lifetime.

When Fred was diagnosed with lung cancer it seemed to make their loved grow as a family. Bonnie took on the role of being his biggest advocate. Then it became living life in-between treatments and loving life and the three boys helped all along the way. The cancer came back in his brain, but Fred was always positive, hopeful and never complained right to the end.

Fred always loved animals and helping people who needed a helping hand. He worked various jobs throughout his life such as stern man, oyster farming and frozen food plant in Belfast.

In addition to both sets of parents, Fred was predeceased by his sister Margaret Smith.

Fred is survived by his wife of eight years, Bonnie Marshall of Searsport, her children and Fred’s step-sons, Leroy Seekins and Travis Seekins both of Searsport, and Shawn Seekins of Durango, CO, sisters, Julie, Peggy, Shirley, Jeannette, and Bernadette, brothers, Steve, Rick, Pete and Kevin, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will take place at 1 PM on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Amesbury Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center at https://www.pawsadoption.org/donate or the Sussman House in Rockport, Maine.
