Obituary of Dana F. Bowden

Belmont - Dana F. Bowden, 67 years, of Belmont, ME, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at his residence.

He was born September 23, 1954, in Belfast, Maine, the son of the late Leroy and the late Gertrude (Dodge) Nickerson.

After High School, he joined the United States Navy and served proudly for 4 years. He worked for many years at Stinson Seafood in Belfast before going to Bath Iron Works the career which he retired from after 30+ years. He was a proud member of the Auxiliary in Belfast. 

He loved golfing, fishing, and hunting, and had a love for cards. If he wasn’t home, you were bound to find him at the VFW hall in Belfast playing poker, spades, or any number of card games along with his weekly poker nights that he thoroughly loved and enjoyed. 

He worked hard his whole life to provide for his family.  

He is pre-deceased by his loving wife and soul mate, Susan E. (Carter) Bowden, his Mother Gertrude (Dodge) Nickerson, Step Father Theodore Nickerson; Father LeRoy Bowden; Brother Steve Bowden of Northport; and his sister-in-law Jeanne (Carter) Wright of Windham.

Dana is survived by his son, Adam Bowden of Hermon, his daughter, Amanda Scott, and son-in-law Brian Scott of Waterville, his grandchildren; LeeAnn, Marina, Tyson, Noah, Cooper, and Madison, as well as several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and many close friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at 1 pm at VFW on Field Street in Belfast, Me.
