Obituary of Kayla Brooke Garcelon
Kayla Brooke Garcelon, 30, of Searsport died June 25, 2022, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. She was born on July 1, 1991, in Belfast, the daughter of Peter Garcelon and Cheryl (Clark) Remillard.
Kayla graduated from Searsport District High School in 2009. She loved sports and being outside. She had a passion for soccer and played for the Vikings under her uncle Michael Garcelon and dad Peter. When she was young, we took many camping trips to Moosehead Lake. She loved kayaking, fishing, and our four wheeling adventures. Kayla had a knack for writing. I often told her she should have become a writer. She was artistic as well. She always had a sketching book somewhere.
After high school she attended a year at the University of Maine, Augusta. She started her own landscaping business and really enjoyed working with flowers and plants. She wasn’t afraid of hard work or getting dirty. Most recently she was working at Applebee’s in Thomaston. Everyone she worked with there were special to her.
Kayla has two beautiful daughters, Ava Garcelon and Heather Swift who she loved with all her heart. She was so proud of her babies, and she was working hard at being the best she could for them. Our lives will never be the same without her.
Kayla was predeceased by her grandfather Harold Garcelon, grandfather Maurice Clark and Grandmother Ruby Clark.
She is survived by her father Peter Garcelon and his wife Crystal; sister Hannah Garcelon; mother Cheryl Remillard and her partner Ryan Vieu; stepfather Andre Remillard; daughter’s Ava Garcelon and Heather Swift; grandmother Kathryn Garcelon, cousin Taylor Varnum and her husband Tommy and their son Mason; Uncle Michael Garcelon and his wife Richelle and family; partner Scott Swift and his daughter Payton, and many more loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
There will be a graveside service for family and close family friends at the Gordon Cemetery in Searsport on July 6, 2022, at 1PM.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations for the future needs of her daughters Ava, and Heather to: Peter Garcelon, PO Box 239 Searsport, ME 04974. He is in the process of setting up an account for them.
The family would like to send a special “Thank You” to Applebee’s restaurant for their generous donation.
We also want to thank everyone who helped Kayla in those early morning hours. The man who found her and called for help, officer Lunt who stayed with her in the ambulance, all the first responders, the Emergency Room at WCGH, Life Flight of Maine and everyone who has reached out to us with their kindness and support. There are no words that can express how much this meant to us.
