Obituary of Charlene A. Quimby

Charlene A. Quimby, 79, of Albion, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born in Portland on January 25, 1943, to Arthur and Wilma Linnell and later raised by her grandparents Harry and Jaunita McAllister. She graduated from Erskine Academy. Charlene married Carroll W. Quimby in 1961 and they raised 4 children together in the home they built. She loved her family including her dogs. 

Charlene worked as a certified nurses aide at Bethany Nursing Home for 12 years, Maine Veterans Home for 12 years, and Seton Rehab for 9 years. After she retired she provided private homecare for a special family in Augusta. She was a rainbow girl and a 50-year member of Eastern Star. Charlene loved painting,  going camping, attending tractor festivals, and spending time with family and friends. She often documented her adventures through photography. 

Charlene was predeceased by her parents; grandparents; brother, Arthur Linnell; and grandson, Eben Quimby.

Charlene is survived by her husband, Carroll of 60 years; son, Charlie Quimby and his wife Gail of Albion; daughter, Carla Nielsen and her husband Howard of Albion; son, Craig Quimby and his partner Stacey Haskins of Swanton, Vermont; daughter Carrie Griffin and her husband David of Albion; grandson, Lawrence Quimby and his wife Heather and their children Austin and Brooke of Hodgdon; grandson, Zachary Quimby and his wife Ashley and their children Ryleigh and Reagan of Albion; granddaughter, Chelsea McKeen and her husband Ryan of Lakeland, Florida; granddaughter, Marsha Quimby of Albion; granddaughter, Meagan Nielsen and her children Hallie and Finn of Benton; grandson, Matthew Nielsen and his wife Betsy of Benton;  grandson, Paul Griffin and his partner Morgan Lane and their children Arabella and Tucker of Albion; grandson, Patrick Griffin and his wife Courtney and their children Waylon and Avreigh of Littleton; and granddaughter, Jennifer Griffin of Albion. 

Graveside service will be held at Puddledock Cemetary on the South Freedom Road in Albion on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will be held after the graveside service at 358 Quimby Road, Albion (the family home).
