Devoted wife, mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother lovingly called Nanny, Madeline McAvey, passed away on January 9, 2022. Madeline was lovingly raised by her grandparents on their family farm in Searsport and attended local schools. Madeline worked in different areas of healthcare throughout her life, including Bradbury Nursing home in Belfast in the 1960’s and later in homecare, caring for the elderly and children, before retiring. For many years, Madeline worked side-by-side with her husband and children raising chickens for Penobscot Poultry. She and her husband moved to Brooks to have their own farm, it’s there that Nanny and Grampy shared many wonderful memories with the grandchildren.
