Thomas W. Vaughan
Stockton Springs – Thomas William Vaughan born on May 8, 1937 and died on December 28, 2021. Tom passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his Wife and children. He was the Son of Otto Bass Vaughan & Katherine (Watt) Vaughan. He is survived by his wife Edna (Buzzell) Vaughan, Children Tonia & Bill Littlefield of Orland, Daniel Vaughan of Gorham, Diane & Chris Hubbard of Stockton Springs and his Sister Betty & Arnold Valdez of Indio, CA. Tom has 7 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren and also survived by 2 nieces and many cousins. Tom was predeceased by his parents and brother Otto Bass Jr.
Tom grew up in Belfast and attended the Belfast Schools. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 then returned to Maine in 1957 to marry and start a family. He reenlisted in the Navy in 1963 and retired in 1979 after twenty years of service as an Electronics Technician First Class. After the Navy he returned to Stockton and worked at various jobs in the area.
He loved his tractor, chainsaw and cutting wood on his property. He enjoyed traveling; Tom and Edna went on trips, both in the United States and abroad.
Tom was famous for giving nicknames, drinking coffee and “shooting the shit” with anyone and everyone.
A spring committal service will be held at Smart Cemetery, Belfast on May 8th 2022.
