Obituary of Joseph Merle Harriman

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
JOSEPH MERLE HARRIMAN, 82, of Stockton Springs, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on December 23, 2021 unexpectedly. Joe was born on March 12, 1939, to Beatrice (Lear) Harriman and Merle Harriman. Joe joined the Army in the 1960s. He drove grain trucks and worked at Champion Paper Mill for several years. Joe would always refer to the 10 Commandments to point out what was right and wrong. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks. He sawed, split (with an axe) and stacked his own wood. He was a very healthy man and read many health books. He loved family and friends - you always felt welcome around Joe. He just loved talking on the phone and visiting, but he always had to be home for his beloved cat, Buddy. He loved his old-time songs also. Joe is survived by his children: Judy Patten and Cindy Damon, both of Stockton; his grandson Josh Mace, his granddaughter Brittany Mace, his grandchildren Amanda Edmunds and Kean Ripley along with many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brothers Leroy Harriman and wife Gail of Belmont, Dewaine Harriman of Arizona and sister Linda Pomeroy of Searsport. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his cat, Buddy. Joe is predeceased by his wife of several years, Laura Harriman; son Erwin Damon; his parents; sisters Alfreda Robinson, Barbara Robbins, and Verley Dooley and his cats Blacky and Lucky. Private burial will be in April 2022. Memories and condolences may be shared at ripostafh.com.
