Obituary of Dorothy G. Bryant
Dorothy G. Bryant, 76, of Belmont passed away on August 31st 2021, at Waldo County General Hospital. She was born December 28th, 1944, to the late Willis and Frances Gerrish. She was one of 11 children growing up on Appleton Ridge Road and then later moved to their new home in Searsmont as a child.
Dot had a love of working with numbers. She took pride in keeping accurate records in book keeping and never missing work. She worked for CMP and Keybank in her early years and kept records at the family auctions when her children were young. For many years she was dedicated to her work in the office for Creative Apparel in Belmont before retiring.
Her passions included gardening, canning, and reading. She loved cooking her beans and Grammys chop suey; they were always the most popular at family gatherings. There was nothing more important to Dot than her family and friends. She loved family gatherings and would often call to keep us informed on what everyone in the family was doing.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Lloyd Bryant Sr., her children: The families of James Bennett Jr. and wife Sirena, Mark Bennett Sr. and wife Michelle, step children Lloyd Bryant Jr. and wife Dawn, Charles Bryant, Dwayne Bryant and wife Tracy, and Deanna Bryant. She is also survived by three siblings and their families Helen Landry, Ruth and Virgil (Junior) Littlefield, Mathew Gerrish and Cindy Russ. Dorothy had several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who were all very special to her.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by several siblings including: Elizabeth Bauer, Buddy (Horace) Gerrish, Harriet Brierley, Shirley Gerrish, Norman Gerrish, Robert Gerrish, and Donald Gerrish.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She was the kindest, sweetest, most caring person. She will always carry a special place in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers we would ask on Dorothy's behalf that you spend time with family and cherish your moments together. Contact a loved one, give them a hug, spend time together - those were the things Dorothy appreciated most in life.
A graveside ceremony will be scheduled at a later date at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Searsmont.
