Dicky Stephen Read, 59, of Searsmont, Maine passed away unexpectedly on August 17th, 2021 at his home. Dicky was born in Belfast to Clifford and Nancy Read on May 15th, 1962. He went to high school at Belfast Area High and graduated in 1980. He spent most of his career working at Robbins lumber in Searsmont as a quality manager. Dicky spent many years studying martial arts where he received his 3rd degree brown belt. He was an avid outdoorsman whose passion was hunting and fishing In his later years, Dicky spent many hours at the pool hall and most recently competed in the Best of the Best tournament. Dicky was a brilliant man who spent his entire life fixing and repairing anything and everything for those closest to him. Those who knew him best often referred to him as “MacGuyver. Dicky is predeceased by his brother Danny Read, and father Clifford Read. He is survived by his mother Nancy Read, his sisters Debby Heath and Diana Hills; his son Austin Read, daughter Heather and husband Matthew FitzGerald; his significant other; Darlene Darling, his grandchildren Conlan and Madelyn FitzGerald and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 226 New England Rd. Searsmont, ME on Thursday August 26, 2021 from 6-8 pm.
