Obituary of Peter Anthony Smith

Peter A. Smith passed away August 11th. He was born in Toul-Rosieres AB, France on April 11th, 1958, to David and Patricia Smith. Peter was the third son of five boys. In his early life, Pete landscaped in Ohio before moving to Searsport Maine. Peter continued to work jobs throughout his life in Maine that kept him outside and around the flowers, his last being at Colonial Gables where he was the Head Gardner. Pete in his younger years had the need for speed. He was usually found on two wheels with his hair blowing in the wind on his Kawasaki Z 1000 motorcycle. He loved his gardens and flower beds, and they were always something to be proud of. Any lawn he touched, he made sure it had beautiful stripes and no grass clippings were left behind. Pete will forever be known for his hard work, determination, smarts, charismatic smile, and love toward his kids. Preceded by parents Patricia and David Smith, and one brother, Mark Smith. He leaves behind his son Garrett Smith of Knox, daughter Haleigh Smith of Bangor, “bonus son” Anthony Smith, brother David Smith and Janica of Swanville, brother Mike Smith and Cindy of Brooks, brother Patrick Smith of Franklin, niece Brittany and Josh Shute, nephew Mark Smith and Kelli, nephew Autumn Smith, niece Andrea Smith, great-nieces Alivia and Kaitlyn Shute, sister-in-law Christie, friend and neighbor Rodney Bilodeau, and friend and boss Ed. A graveside service will be held for Pete at Village Cemetery in Searsport this Friday, August 20th at 1pm.
