Obituary of Marion E. Hughes

Marion Edna Hughes, 69, of Belfast passed away peacefully on July 17, 2021, and flew high to Heaven to be held once again by her late husband, Robert Hughes, II.  Marion was born on May 8, 1952, and loved her family with the entirety of her selfless heart. She was the reason behind so many family cookouts, joyful holidays, and heartwarming memories, but, her love didn’t stop there, she dedicated her life to be loving and kind to all.  Marion worked at and owned A Cut Above Hair Salon and she appreciated and loved each and every one of her customers. Nothing could stop her from doing the hair of her regular clients, and I mean nothing!  She loved decorating excessively for Holidays, her daily soap operas, and was the absolute best gardener that you could ever meet. Marion also enjoyed getting together with her high school friends to catch up on life and pridefully taking her family to Bingo night to carry out the tradition installed in her by her mother, Charlene Robbins.  Grammy will be missed so deeply by so many people and will be loved and remembered forever and always by her family.  Marion leaves behind her daughter, Melissa and children, Jerica and her Son Ezyce, Lakin and Jake and their children Lana and Cohen, Helene and Tom and their children Carter and Reagan and Alia; Daughter, Melanie and Eric and children, Kali and Kyle and their children Hudson and Griffin, and Dagan; Son, Robert Hughes, III and children, Jason, Nicole and Gracie and her Daughter, Eliyanah. Marion also leaves behind her brother Harry and other three “children”, Harry, Michelle, and Sherry, and her beloved dog, Sophie and so many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.  A Celebration of Life will be held for Marion at the VFW in Belfast, Maine on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 10:00 AM.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.ripostafh.com
