My mother, Ruth Davis, taught at East Belfast School in the 1960s and 1970s where Margaret was teaching and had taught for years. My mother spoke fondly of Margaret as being a wonderful teacher, a support to her and her friend. I remembered my mother talking about Margaret and saying "that woman can do and does do everything!" A few years ago I read a lovely piece in a local paper highlighting Margaret and how active and capable she was and I think she was 100 years old at the time! Her life sounded like a life well lived. She certainly impacted many student's lives in positive ways over her decades of teaching.
My sincere condolences to her family. Having someone in your life for that long and having to say goodbye, is a very hard thing to do. Living 103 years is though something to celebrate.

The First Church in Belfast will never be the same without Margaret sitting in pew #25! We are so sad to lose our oldest and still most active member. Margaret, your grit, determination, and devotion were evident in everything you did. And your faith never wavered. We will miss you.

Hard to choose any one memory for someone like
Aunt Margaret. I think the best story she ever related to me some years ago, was about how she was driving along one day and “some young man” ( she used a different word) cut her off in traffic on a sassy little car then proceeded to accelerate away....she had a car with a v8 engine so she stomped on the gas and then fly by him and continued on her way. Proving “little ole ladies drivers ” aren’t slow pokes. I still think
About that story a lot, especially when I’m driving on the highway. God love her !!!
