Obituary of Michelle R. Nickerson

Michelle R. Nickerson, 58, of Stockton Springs, Maine died unexpectedly on June 13th, 2021. She was born July 26th, 1962, in Belfast, Maine to Harry and Helen Burns. She graduated from Belfast Area High School in 1980. Michelle then went on to marry husband Timothy Nickerson in 1982, and they had three children. Michelle’s life focus were her children and her family. She stopped working and was able to stay home to raise her sons. As they got older, any job that she took on would have to be flexible with her schedule which included many sports games and special events. She wasn’t willing to miss any of her children’s activities. Michelle felt blessed to have four granddaughters; Tegan, Colbie, Lily and Quinley and most recently a grandson expected to arrive in August. She also had two dogs in her life that she loved to spoil, Dacia and Drakie. Anyone that knew Michelle, knew her family also as she had endless stories, photos and videos to share. They truly lit up her life, and she beamed with pride. She spent her time visiting with them in and out of state and when she wasn’t with them, she was shopping for them to have a “goody bag” ready for the next visit. Michelle always had a smile to offer, and she loved to have a laugh. She will be missed by all, especially her family. Michelle is survived by her Husband of 39 years, Timothy Nickerson. Her mother, Helen Burns, her brother, Mark Burns, her son, Ryan Nickerson and his daughter Lily, her son, Matthew Nickerson and his wife Anne, their daughters Tegan and Quinley, her son, Joshua Nickerson and his wife Kaymala and their daughter Colbie and expected son. A special aunt, Evelyn Curry and a special uncle, Donald Greenlaw, her sister-in-law, Marie Ball, her brother-in-law, Ronald Nickerson, as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Michelle is predeceased by her father, Harry Burns, her father-in-law, Henry Nickerson, her mother-in-law, Laura Nickerson, and her brother-in-law, David Nickerson. Funeral services will be held at Belfast United Methodist Church, 23 Mill Ln, Belfast, Maine on June 26th at 1:00pm.
