Obituary of Nancy A. Maddocks

Monroe - Nancy Ann (Larrabee) Maddocks, 74 passed away on June 11, 2021, after a long battle with lung cancer and heart problems. Nancy was born September 3, 1946, in Rockland, Maine. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Sr. and Winnie Larrabee. Nancy is predeceased by an infant son William, her husband of 35 years, Byron E. Maddocks, her parents, and siblings: Elmer Jr., Richard, Frank, Mary, and Helen. Our mom was a hard worker, she worked her entire life. She worked at Penobscot Poultry, Waldo Shoe, and Clements Egg Farm. In 1986, she earned her High School GED and in 1987 she earned her CNA certificate. After earning her CNA certificate, she worked in home health and ending her working career at Westgate Manor in 2008, where she made many friends and maintained those friendships, even after her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3108 Ladies Auxiliary, Brooks Extension, and a member of Brooks Pentecostal Church. Mom had many hobbies in life. She is most known for gardening, crocheting, and stopping at yard sales. She is most known for her cooking of biscuits, whoopie pies, and pickled beets. Nancy is survived by her children Rosemarie Hill, her partner, Lewis Sargent, and Mark Maddocks, spouse, Leslie. Grandchildren: David Dooley, spouse, Amie, Sam Hill, Abby Leavitt, spouse, Brock, Sarah Hill, Dominic and Kolton Maddocks, and two great-grandchildren Levi and Reagan Dooley. Siblings: Fran Miller, Ellen Richardson, Alana Beaupre, Muriel Erickson, Robert Larrabee, and Stephen Erickson, plus many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Mom had many special people in her life. No matter where she went, she would run into someone she knew. The family would like to thank Pony Stubbs, Louise Skillings, Mary Dodge, Curt, and Barbara Rozelle, for regularly being there for mom. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lighthouse Christian Academy Scholarship program in Mom’s honor. Please make checks payable to Brooks Pentecostal Church. There will be a celebration of life held at the Brooks Pentecostal Church (178 Monroe Highway Brooks, Maine) on Saturday, June 26, 2021, from 2 pm - 4 pm. A graveside service will be held on September 3, 2021, at 4 pm at Kinney Cemetery in Brooks.
