Obituary of Jeffery Richards
BELFAST
Jeffery D Richards, 60, passed unexpectedly to be with his lord Jesus, on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, with his wife Debbie by his side in Dallas, North Carolina.
He was born April 27, 1961, in Bangor, son of Joyce (Kingsbury) and James Richards Sr.
After graduating from Belfast Area High in 1979, He worked for Consumers Fuel. He enjoyed working for local various construction companies driving his own dump truck through the years.
In 1981, he joined the Belfast Fire Department. He felt honored to serve the community for 40 years under the direction of his father, Chief Jim and later a long side his son Jay. He served as Training officer 1989-1991, lieutenant 1992-1993 and Captain 1994-1998.
He met Debbie (Leali) of Frankfort in 1995. They married in Barbados in 2006 and they had 26 loving years together as best friends. He loved spending time with his combined family of 4 children, 9 grandchildren and dog Kasper.
He enjoyed talking daily with his mother, looking for parts online for his father's restoration of vehicles and tractors, being an avid New England Patriots fan and teasing his friends and sister Robin about their NFL teams, remodeling his camp, traveling, meeting people, talking with anyone (he had the gift of gab) and being anywhere with his wife Debbie.
He had a generous spirit, he never met a stranger and received everyone with an open heart. He made many lasting friendships while traveling with his wife Debbie, in-laws Linda and Fred and his dog Kasper.
Jeff is survived by his parents, his spouse Debbie, his brothers Butch and wife Elyzabeth, Bob and fiancé Debby, his sister Robin Littlefield and husband Ronald, his children Jay Richards and wife Jackie, Sylvia (Richards) Tajalle and husband Jim, Brad Hussey and wife Cami, Jami (Hussey) Dakin and husband Nick, his grandchildren Octavia, Destiny, Hailey, Abby, Bryson, Brayden, Kasen, Jameson, Morgan, his in-laws Fred and Linda Smith, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Jeff is predeceased by his grandparents, Albert and Mabel Kingsbury, Ralph and Maxine Richards and an infant brother Larry.
Friends and family may gather at Riposta Funeral Home on Saturday June 5th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm for visiting. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm followed with a Fireman's service and burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Jeffery's family request that all those attending practice social distancing and wear face coverings.
