Obituary of Marlene A. Gordon

Marlene A. Gordon Belfast – Marlene A. Gordon has peacefully passed away on May 20, 2021 at the Commons at Tall Pines, Belfast, ME She was born April 12, 1935 in Syracuse, NY. She spent many years in southern California, then New England. Marlene enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family. She was much loved by her family (always putting us first) and friends (always there for them no matter what or when). She always encouraged big gatherings of her daughters’ friends. Much of her senior years were spent caring for her parents and then her husband when he was paralyzed by a heart problem. She moved from Laconia, NH to Belfast in 2018 when her daughter and son-in-law moved there permanently. She didn't just talk her talk, she walked the talk. She simply just got down to it, living a good life as a good wife, adhering to God's Word. She never had to mention God. For her it was in her actions day to day. She was a 5 star Type A personality. If she was going to do something, she was going to do it right. She always had an up-beat, vivacious, and steadfast personality in her carriage of self and presentation. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert V. Gordon and her parents. Marlene is survived by her loving daughter Debbie Murphy, Son-in-law Thomas Murphy, Granddaughter Rebekah Zenor (CO) and husband Andrew Zenor, her Great-grandsons Barrett and Bode, grandson Sean G. Murphy and wife Colleen, and brother Jack Voorhees (WA) and his family. Keep my memory with you, For memories never die. I will be there with you, When you look across the sky. I will be there in the clouds, In the birds that fill the air; In the beauty of a fragrant rose, You will find my memory there. You will feel me in the tenderness, Of a tiny baby’s touch; You hear me if you listen, In the twilight’s gently hush. When your hearts are heavy, And you feel that you are alone; Just reach down deep inside of you, For your heart is now my home. I will always be there with you, I will never go away; For I will live on in your hearts, Forever and a day. She will be buried with her husband in East Derry, NH at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent De Paul, 1269 Union Ave, Laconia, NH 03246.
