Obituary of Herbert C. Littlefield

FRANKFORT Herbert Charles Littlefield, 77, went home to be with the Lord May 7, 2021 at SMAC Medical Center in Biddeford. He was born March 8, 1944 in Belfast, the son of Albert and Winifred (Dwelley) Farwell Littlefield. He enlisted in the Army in 1961 and served until 1964 as a lineman in Germany. He married Elaine Carol (Tripp) February 2, 1968 in Belfast, Maine. They have two children, Tammy Jean and Chandler Dean Littlefield. He was a master of many trades working in Maplewood and Penobscot Poultry and Penobscot Frozen Food as a maintenance man. He drove truck for Young's Lobster Pound and in later years was a flagger for Central Maine Power Co. Herb loved the Lord and dedicated himself to serving Him. He was treasurer for years at the Cornerstone Church in Belfast, but one of his greatest joys in life was being involved in the opening of a place of worship on the Back Searsport Road in Belfast restoring the old church building there and incorporating as The Overcomers Christian Fellowship in 2001. He served as president and treasurer. After a few years at that location, the church moved to its present location at 11 Frankfort Road in Searsport where he served faithfully until God called him home. He was predeceased by his parents, step-mother Eva Doolan; his two brothers, George and Chandler; two half-sisters, April and Candy Jo; a sister-in­ law, Suzanne (Phinney) Littlefield, and nephew, George Gray. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine, of 53 years; his two children, Tammy Porter and Chandler Littlefield; his brother, Daniel Littlefield, his half brother, Jimmy Littlefield, and three half-sisters, Ruth Ann Brown, Vicki Leathers and Bonnie McIntire; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service May 19th at 2:00pm at the Littlefield Family Cemetery on the White Orchard Road in Frankfort. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elaine Littlefield, 106 White Orchard Road, Frankfort, Maine 04438 or in Herb's memory to the Overcomers Christian Fellowship, 244 Frankfort Road, Swanville, Maine. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home.
