Marilyn R. Perry passed away peacefully on May 3, 2021, after a very long fight with cancer. For many years her extended family of Sally and then Michele Thornley acted as her caregivers.
Marilyn was born in Fairlawn RI. After marrying her husband, they moved to Plainville Mass., and finally moved to Freedom ME 26 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband Cyril Perry, sister Helen Nickerson and brother Robert Dickie.
Marilyn is survived by her brother Gordon Dickie, niece Jennifer Trafford, great-nephews Brandon Szumita and Cameron Szumita, and his children Maria and Giovanni; as well as her extended family of Joe and Sally Thornley, their children, Michele Thornley and her children Victoria Fuller and Jeffery Fuller Jr., Joseph and Melissa Thornley and their child Janelle Albright and her family.
Marilyn will be remembered for all her beautiful cross-stitch work and many in town will remember seeing her at all of the Town of Freedom’s meetings. She was part of the recreation committee and a stitching group in town as well. She would always remember your name and something about you, and if she met you once you were a friend for life.
All Family and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Freedom Church with a Potluck social (Hosted by the Freedom Rec Committee) immediately following. Ceremony will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, May 22, 2021. If anyone has questions about what to bring to the potluck, please call Cindy at the Freedom Town Office at 207-382-6177.
