Frank Lane

Obituary of Frank Alfred Lane

Frank Alfred Lane was born on February 11, 1945 and he went home to be with our lord today March 12, 2021. His passing has left the world with a little less light, but has surely made heaven a little bit brighter. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Helen, his 4 children Scott, Jeff, Alfred and Monica and the rest of his very large family and circle of friends. Even as we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the fact that he is whole and pain-free again, and we rest in the knowledge that we will see him again one day. Frank was raised in Frankfort, Maine. He served honorably in the US Army where he served 2 tours in Viet Nam. He returned home to Maine where he met and married the love of his life, Helen. They would have been married for 50 years in November of 2021. Early in their marriage he and Helen moved with 3 of their children to Springfield, MO to complete their education. They welcomed their 4th child and only daughter, while in MO. They then moved again to take jobs teaching in first Christian and then public school systems in Modesto, CA. They retired early and spent the majority of their retirement years in Mi Wuk, CA enjoying each other, family and friends. In 2019 they made their final move back to Maine. A little over 2 years ago, Frank suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke that left him with permanent brain damage. He was also left with vision issues making it difficult to process what he was seeing. Against all odds, he not only survived this stroke, but consistently showed great improvement learning to walk with assistance, to communicate with those he loved, and he had even begun to read and remember the content of what he read. His recovery was spent back in Searsport, ME where he resided with family until his death. He was a man of great strength and determination and we are so proud of all his hard work and accomplishments over these two years of recovery. We want to thank the many people that made a difference to Frank and his family in his last weeks. Special thanks to his Bridges Home Health Care worker and the Kindred Hospice team. Your loving care and your selfless efforts toward his as well as the rest of our households comfort has been priceless and so appreciated. In remembrance of Frank, we ask that you love and hold those dear to you more closely. Frank loved nothing more than to spend time with friends and family entertaining and cooking one of his famous concoctions for them to enjoy. His greatest love, other than God and family was music and it sustained him to the very end. So we ask those that knew and loved him to gather together with friends and family, cook a great meal to share, listen to some music and make a toast to his life. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 King James Version 7- I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 8- Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them that love his appearing.
