Obituary of Mary S. Jackson

MARY SHIRLEY JACKSON, 94 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 5, 2020 at the Sussman House in Rockport. She was born July 10, 1926 in Knox, Maine, the daughter of Wilfred and Mary Walker. Mary was pre-deceased by her husband of 68 years, Robert Jackson, her parents, and all seven siblings. Four Sisters Margaret, Irene, Brenda, Dorothy, and three brothers: Cecil, Nelson, and Harold. She is survived by her son John and his wife Cherry, her son Dennis and his wife Pamela, her daughter Brenda and her husband Glen. She has seven grandchildren Heidi, Craig, Tammy, Chad, Kristian, Sasha, and Mikhail. Ten Great grandchildren Hannah, Zach, Jordan, Makayla, Caleb, Devin, Rowen, Odin, Brody, and Atlas. She has many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as friends. In her early years and living in Belfast she enjoyed taking her children to the city park and watching them swim in the pool, relaxing at her cottage on Pitcher pond, visiting family to talk and play card games, and going to the Fall county fairs. Later she worked at Holmes Greenhouse for many years and loved working with flowers. She loved growing flowers in her home gardens, watching the birds at her feeder and spending time with family and friends. Family came first for Mary and she was a kind and caring friend and neighbor to all that knew her. She also loved doing puzzles with family during her last year of life. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her and loved her. Services will be announced at a later date next Spring. Memories and condolences may be shared at on this site.
