Obituary of Kenneth V. Morang

Kenneth Vernon Morang, 92, passed away October 6, 2020. Born on March 1, 1928 in Eastport Maine, he was the son of the late William E. Morang and Margaret Mae (Boomer) Morang. Ken attended Rockland schools. He was in the United States Army stationed in Japan in 1946 with the Occupation Forces. He was a paratrooper with 10 jumps from a moving airplane at 1200 feet. In his younger years he worked as a pin setter at the local bowling alley. He set up 103 strings one Saturday from 9am to 11 pm and was paid 2cents a string. Ken also worked many years for the Courier Gazette as a newspaper pressman. He loved to go deer hunting, bowling and metal detecting where he found a lot of coins and jewelry. In later years he enjoyed helping his niece Flame Gracie with the family tree. Ken was a life member of the Rockland Elks Club, a life time member of the VFW Post 2499 in Rockland, a member of the American Legion in Camden and a life member of the 11th Airborne Division. Ken was predeceased by his parents, his wife Edith Morang, his daughter Luanne (Morang) Paige, his sister Alice (Morang, Carter) Kaler, his brothers Donald Morang and Merrill Morang. He leaves behind a host of loving family members.
